Imagine yourself becoming a work of art. Imagine one of our portfolio photos is you. Imagine feeling beautiful, even more beautiful than you feel now. Imagine having so much fun that you wish it wouldn't end. Welcome to Jennifer Loomis Photography, the premier photo studio for maternity and family photography.
Over the last fifteen years, more than 1000 women of all shapes and sizes have testified that their session with Jennifer was an amazing and transformative experience. Whether it is in your home or one of her studios, we hope that this photography session will be special - different from anything you have done before. You are commissioning our talents to create a fine-art photograph of you and your family. With more than fifteen years of experience as a photojournalist and a fine-art photographer, Jennifer is going to capture those special feelings surrounding you, your partner and this pregnancy. You are going to feel special and beautiful. Jennifer is more than a photographer, she is creating an experience and an image you will treasure. Don't risk settling for an imitation. There are no such things as reshoots with maternity photography.
Your experience begins in a relaxed setting looking at photographs with Jennifer while sipping a cup of tea. What do you like about the photographs? What do you like about your body? These are important questions to help guide the photography. Then we will go into the studio and look at the many fine imported fabrics and other props, do some basic yoga or
other relaxation exercises, and begin. Get ready to have some fun creating your unique image with a photographer who has photographed more than 1000 women! You and
Jennifer collaborate to find a style that fits your tastes and works
within your comfort zone using fabrics, flowers, poses and more. If you
are like most of our mothers (read their testimonials), after the experience, you walk away
feeling beautiful and see your body in a new way. Your photograph is
more than a portrait, it is a beautiful piece of artwork that shows you your beauty and reminds you
forever of this special nine months .Think about it, imagine yourself becoming a work
of art.
Call to schedule your session today. We recommend scheduling six to ten weeks before your due date. But if you are closer than that, give us a call. We will always do our best to fit you in. We even had one woman go into labor during her shoot! The baby was born that night.

Not only is the portfolio edit an important part of your photography session, but it is also a lot of fun. With more than 20 years of extensive experience editing and printing not only pregnancy images but also for top magazines and newspapers,
we are invaluable helping you decide the best images as
well as the cropping, sizing, enhancing and combination of photos. This session can be done in the studio or if it is more convenient, online with an exclusive password-protected site designed just for you. (Most of our clients prefer the in person meeting because it gives them an opportunity to see actual prints and framing options. Plus they like coming back to see Jennifer!) Either option you choose, we will assist you in person or on the phone to help make it as easy as possible. For it is in this step that the photographs become the art that will eventually hang on your
wall.

More than 1000 women have been photographed by Jennifer (and now Michelle) over the past 15 years. Without your referrals, this would never have been possible. If you refer a friend, or a friend has referred you, please let us know. The success of our business has been built on the solid relationships we have formed. As a thank you, for each referral you AND your friend will receive a credit towards your next session or your prints depending on the type of shoot.

By supporting Jennifer Loomis Photography, you are making a difference. When you book a session with Jennifer or purchase prints for your family, you are also supporting your local schools and organizations that support women and girls such as the Women's Funding Alliance. Every year, Jennifer donates more than 10% of her revenues to nonprofit groups and schools, and donates photo sessions to more than 40 auctions in Seattle, San Francisco and New York. Each month she offers two sliding scale shoots for low-income mothers wanting to capture their pregnancy or family. Jennifer supports local artists, women-owned businesses and single mothers. And she is helping to support a girl in Kenya who hopes one day to come to the United States. Jen says "The better we do, the more we can give. It is so great!"
Jennifer believes in making a difference like making contributions to building a better community or allowing women to see themselves in a new way. She recycles, makes art for her friends, uses energy saver bulbs, volunteers to take care of babies if the mom needs a break, and doesn't water her lawn. Jen got started on her own with little cash but a lot of passion for the beauty of the pregnant body. Her grandfather's words hang above her desk in Seattle "Work hard, do good work and be honest." She adds to those wise words "And try to make a difference." Think hard. What do you do well? How can someone else benefit from your talents? Do you have a project or cause that you would like Jennifer to consider? Please let us know.

To read more about Jennifer and the maternity photography experience, we recommend the article published in the Seattle Times in 2003. We feel that it is better to read about it in other people's words than ours.
Simply Beautiful: Photographer’s work helps society rejoice in pregnant bodies.
Jennifer Loomis has been photographing pregnant women for so long that one of her standard lines for boosting women-on-the-brink-of-giving-birth has frayed.
"You're here because you're a pioneer," Loomis tells her subjects, who spend as many as three hours in the bedroom studio of her 1904 home in Seattle, exposing more skin than they've ever exposed for a camera — right when they are at their least svelte.
"Really, what you're seeing is a whole revolution going on," Loomis says, words clicking as fast as her Nikon, passion stoking her belief that all pregnant women are beautiful. "Society is looking at maternity with a different eye."
