Pregnant and in need of some serious pampering? Sometimes, this is a job best left to the pros. The Mill Valley spa and pregnancy center Barefoot and Pregnant has teamed up with the Mountain Home Inn on Mt. Tam to offer expecting couples romantic getaways this fall and winter.
The two travel packages, called Expecting the Best and Baby Makes Three include a range of activities, services and treats designed to sooth, rejuvenate and educate. At the inn, you'll get gift baskets upon check-in, specially-designed spa menus during your stay, a guided hike with bag lunches for two and a room equipped with a body pillow for mom to rest her belly.
With the Expecting the Best retreat (three days, two nights; $1,100), moms-to-be can choose two spa services and two prenatal exercises classes. In the Baby Makes Three escape (five days, four nights; $2,200), you get a childbirth class, two exercise classes, an expecting fathers workshop led by Oakland author Armin Brott and three spa services. You can also choose to add on to your package with individally priced services such as pregnancy portraits by photographer Jennifer Loomis, infant CPR, golf tee times and more. Transportation between the inn and the spa is included.
Packages are offered on selected October through December. To book, call 415-388-1777. Visit www.barefootandpregnant.com to learn more about the spa.
