Jennifer Loomis is an award-winning documentary photographer best know for her black and white photography which is documentary and captures unique special moments of your pregnancy, baby and family. Jennifer's fine art maternity portraits, newborn portraits, baby portraits, and family portraits are unique, timeless and distinctive. She is the premiere photographer in Seattle, San Francisco and New York. She has been working since 1991 and has photographed more than 1500 women and families including pregnant celebrities and television personalities.

About Our Archival Traditional Process
Jennifer, Michelle and Kael still use black and white film, or color film for their fine-art photography. All of our prints are done by hand in the darkroom, giving you an heirloom print that is an archival quality print and will be treasured for generations. You can choose from silver gelatin fiber prints which are available in black and white, selenium tone and sepia tone or resin coated prints. Each photograph is signed and dated. We don't use digital processes because we believe that the traditional photographic processes using film are more artistic and have a longer life.
Since we have been working for more than 15 years, we have seen the difference between digital and film. Our pregnant clients from 1995 have 13 year old children now. Recently Jennifer helped one of her families hang up three years of pregnancy and family photography with their six year old daughter in their new house. Their daughter insisted on helping, saying she wanted the photographs of her inside her mother's belly to be hung in her room. She now proudly displays four photos in her room. The best, she says, is that she can look at them as she takes her nap.
About our Maternity Photography
Maternity photography with us is a unique, fun and empowering experience. It is more than just portrait photography of your pregnancy or family. Jennifer, Michelle and Kael, all spend time with you to discuss what you like and don't like about our pregnancy photography. We also want to know what you like and don't like about your body so we can better create something to suit your lifestyle. Many of our clients print them large and hang their maternity and family photographs on their walls in their living room or other prominent areas in their house, including master bathrooms. Our photography sessions last from one to three hours depending on the photography session you have chosen. After we photograph you, you come back to look at your proofs with us or we can do it online in our password protected online gallery.
Family, Baby or Newborn Photography
Jennifer's family photography and baby photography is special. She is a trained documentary photographer. Each family photograph captures your relationship with your baby or with your child. Different from portrait photography, Jennifer's photographs capture that special moment with your newborn, family, grandparent, or child. For photography of your son or daughter, Jennifer will ask you questions to learn about your individual relationship with your child so she can make that a special photograph for you.

Jennifer has two photographers assisting her in Seattle, San Francisco and New York City. Michelle Bates is an award-winning photographer who has been working with Jennifer for more than three years. Kael Alford photographs in New York City. She too is an award winning photographer having experience photographing the Iraq war and returning from Baghdad in 2005.
