Photographer — Seattle, SF, NYC
Michelle Bates (www.michellebates.net) has been a photographer for Jennifer Loomis since 2005, and was chosen because of her creative eye, her passion for fine art, and her friendly and fun personality. She even photographed Jennifer when she was pregnant.
Michelle has been a professional photographer since 1991 when she began studying at the Maine Photographic Workshops. She is known as the Holga Queen because of her in depth knowledge of working with plastic cameras. Michelle published her first book Plastic Cameras: Toying with Creativity, which features her fine art work with a Holga plastic camera in 2006 and the second edition was published in 2010. Her work has been exhibited and published internationally, and she teaches workshops across the US. Michelle has also been photographing performers, artwork, and community art events, such as the Fremont Solstice Parade, for more than 20 years.
