The Maternity Photography Experience (MPX)
There is an immediate sense of familiarity and comfort when you step into one of Jennifer’s studios where she can usually be found running around barefoot and sipping a cup of tea. You almost completely forget you are about to have photographs taken because of her laid back demeanor and sense of humor. Before your maternity shoot, Jennifer, Tiffany or Michelle sit down with you to chat and get to know you. They wants to learn about what you like about your body, what you are comfortable with and which style of photographs you prefer, so they can then outline roughly what will happen in the shoot. Before your family shoot, the photographers like to chat about your priorities for your shoot as well as what you like about your children and their interactions. Our family shoots tend to be four shoots in one, starting with the entire family and ending with the children.
Once your maternity shoot begins, you and your loved ones are gently guided to produce a photograph which truly expresses your natural love for one another without looking staged or fake. To help get the best shots possible, Jennifer will teach you her lighting techniques as well as how to be mindful of your posture and gestures. Jennifer’s goal is for you to walk away from your experience with beautiful photos that portray you and your family’s unique relationship as well as allowing you to feel beautiful and empowered at this special time. Jennifer is more than a photographer, she is an artist creating an experience and an image you will treasure for a lifetime- it’s you, it’s real. “This picture is SO my daughter!” says a pleased client. “The picture portrays her personality to a tee.” What you get with Jennifer is art, not just a simple photograph. These amazing photos will capture you and your family at one of the most exciting and beautiful times in your life. These are the photos that will be treasured for generations. And, after 15 years, she still has clients coming back for more photographs.
“Jennifer has such an intimate relationship with her clients. It’s almost like they’re old friends or family, although some practically are now since they’ve been coming back to her for so many years!”
Remember, there are no such things as reshoots when it comes to maternity photography so choose your photographer wisely.
We recommend scheduling six to ten weeks before your due date, though one client actually came in on her due date and went into labor that night. Jennifer personally likes to speak with each potential client, so don’t be surprised if she calls you back herself! Call to schedule your session today.
